My '04 display does the same thing. Did you ever find a fix for it?

I had the same issue and the only fix is to replace the entire instrument cluster. New ~$2k installed.

I am investigating a potential repair I found at vdorepair.com. Looks promising.

SO you have to take it out (or have it taken out, shipped , be without a car for 3-5 days (plus shipping time) and then have it reinstalled.Even at their price, when you add in all the incidentals and time away from the vehicle, it does not seem like that much cheaper of an option thwn getting one on line and having it installed.

Did you purchase an entire instrument cluster online for the $2,000 you mentioned, or just the multi function display, and what online site did you buy it from. Thanks for all the info as I try to figure out how to proceed.

Porsche 'stealer" quoted me this price and it was for the entire cluster. I do not believe you can just replace the MFD on its own.

Khairo, I spoke with the peoplle at vdorepair.com and they had never repaired the MFD from a Cayenne and were hesitant to experiment on mine. It sounded like you had a lead on a repair, or a purchase, for about $200. Can you share any details on that? thanks

Does anyone know if I buy a used cluster, whether it needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer to my car for it to work? I have 2002 C2.

What's a "C2"? We're all Cayenne owners here (AKA P!G and Pepper..)

Just had mine replaced under warranty (06 CS). Dealer said it was $1700 part and that they had one shot to program. If they screw it up they eat the cost of the part.

2008 ctt - Mine was replaced last month. Started to dim and would not always come on right away. sometimes 5-10 min before the display would wake up. Covered under CPO.

Where did you buy your screen from? I have not been able to locate one. Also how involved was it, ie (is any soldering involved, or is it just plugging in connections?)
