Kudos to the OP for acting quickly and decisively and putting the other person's interest before his own..only way to roll for me as well!
A family ride should be just that..one the WHOLE family can enjoy and feel 100% at ease in
My favorite compliment about my ride is when my mother told me:"i feel very comfy in your Cayenne,more so than in any car I have been in"

Now is when I beg to differ with the OP,i love love love PTV...and how safe and easy it felt taking long curves on the Autobahn at 150 with cars in the next lane..PTV is so awesome that my pepper almost feels more stable n steady in a curve as opposed to a straight line

 

Wouldn't it be cheaper to swap the option out with someone with 14 way adjustable seats. i would assume it would be like 2-3k to do interior swaps.
Just my 2 cents.
Seats are easy removal and the dash would be the hard part but still would be leas than trading in the car i am thinking.
