Accelerated Depreciation

Do the new Cayennes qualify for accelerated depreciation on a lease? Seems it meets the gross vehicle weight requirements but curious if anyone has done more research.

I assume you are referring to section 179 of the tax code for writing off capital assets, right?
I am not very familiar on how this works for leases, but in the past when you bought outright, which is what I have done you could take 25K plus the first years depreciation. If the new Cayenne falls under the same GVWR as the old ones - I believe it was 6600lbs then it will still qualify.

This did actually change the code in 2011 and it is now substantially reduced from previous years. I believe the new amount of accelerated depreciation for the current year is right around 11K. Get with your tax guy on this if it is a major decision factor for when/if you purchase - I havent completely read up on it for 2011 - but they did a major overhaul on the vehicles that are not "primarily" used for business puposes.
