Who has used 22-inches wheels for the longterm?

I had 22 but didn't last too long due to NYC craters. I remember the ride was not too bad at all, looks great. Thinking about 21 now but probably still too big for my area. If you get 22 have to find a good place to road force balance them.

I've had 22's for about 4 months now and haven't had any issues. I've got a cayenne s. The ride is a little stiffer, but I knew that going into it. I say go for it. Just take it easy on the speed bumps!! ha ha

I had 22's for about 2 weeks. The ride is stiffer but acceptable with air suspension. While with the 22's I was always worried that i'd bend the wheel or blow a tire.
Ultimately, I returned the wheels/tires because it was making a strange noise underneath the car, which I suspect was the gears. 285.35.22 is too tall and I believe is the cause of the problem. Went back to my stock 19's and the noise went away and I been much happier ever since.
Don't look as cool while driving with the stockers, but it beats having a blown tire and being stranded on the side of the road. The largest I'd go is 20's. This a heavy SUV, 22 inch rubber band side wall tires will ruin one of your days.

It's not the reps you need to worry about. The real ones are the ones that have problems with cracking. I know, I had a set and must have spent $3K fixing cracked rims until I had enough. The reps are good.

I use the 22" for show, and the 20" for go! I only use Pirelli Scorpions and I'm very pleased with the price versus performance.
Through spirited driving, I've damaged two of my RUF 22" one-piece (MFG by Borbet) wheels that I had to welded and turned back to round (all wheels were egg-shaped).
For everyday driving, I use 20" O.Z. Canyons, again with the Pirellis.
With the air suspension, I can tailor the harshness/stiffness of the ride with either choice of wheel (22" v. 20").
In the pictures below, the picture on the left has the 20" O.Z. Canyons, and the right has the 22" RUFs.

Wheels and tires
Possible to get the wheels and tires use that had no issues?
1) Vibration
I hear so many complain about vibration and road noise etc moving to 22's
2) Love the different look on the 20's and 22's (Silver Cayenne)
3) Pirelli's or Michelin's seems to be the tire to use?
Thanks

Here are the ones I bought 1 year ago...made it 1 year, 10k miles and so far so good (minus some curb rash from the wife!)
