Ipod Connection

Anyone else having issues connecting their ipod? I am using an older nano in my car and often times, i lose connection or it wont connect at startup. I finally have to reboot the ipod to make it connect. Dont know if its a PCM thing, older ipod thing or the cable. Any thoughts?

Older iPod? I have no issues with my iPod Touch (no-camera version).

I think it has something to do with your Nano. The PCM manual has a few specs for which iPods are compatible- I believe only 1 Nano is included with a certain version of the OS (sorry, don't have the manual handy).

I previously used a iPhone 3GS and a 2nd gen Touch in the car with no problems whatsoever. I now use latest Nano and with one of those really short 3rd party cables and it will cut out for a split second during a song every few and far between. Not a big deal IMO, but not sure if its the cable or the Nano.

I'm using an iPod classic with no issues at all. The PCM interface is much better than the one in my 2010 MB E550.
