05 CTT 45kmiles VS. 06 CTT-S 100kmiles which one should I get?
found these two
05 CTT 45kmiles
06 CTT-S 100kmiles
about same price
I know CTT-S has bigger brakes, front and rear tires are different and different ECU, more hp
this will be my DD car in snowy winter, and most likely in the city, will not track. I DO plan to get snow tires.
which one should I get?
any input will be appreciated.

CTT-S has more power, but with the mileage, i'd take the 05 CTT, then upgrade ECU (GIAC, EVOMs, Upsolute - see Cole's thread).. make sure the plastic coolant pipes are replaced with the aluminum pipes, check service history, etc.

when i was looking for my cayenne, i test drove the CTT and the CTT-S.. the CTT-S pushed me back a bit than the CTT. I didn't know (at that time) that it had bigger breaks, but I know it's more HP and bigger inter-coolers... but with bigger breaks comes bigger bucks in terms of maintenance ;-)

make sure though that it's a real CTT-S.. i've seen a lot of CTT that are 'rebadged' as CTT-S.. the door sills, body kits and other stuff can be installed in a CTT to make it 'appear' as like a CTT-S... unless you have them side-by-side then the brakes are obvious. as said, inter-coolers are bigger + powerkit to bump the power up.. i assume these are the big difference in terms of the CTT and the CTT-S (for the 955's).

I know these are built for lots of miles but there is still a huge difference between 45k & 100k miles. I would go for the 45k miles. Just my opinion. Brakes are great on the non s and you can always do the ecu if you think you need more hp.
From Car & Driver. "Surprisingly, we had to squint to see the performance improvements. The Turbo S shot to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and whizzed by the quarter-mile in 13.5 at 107 mph, just 0.1 second quicker to 60 mph and no quicker through the quarter than the Turbo."
All of the extra hp in the S does not come into play until the time at which most reasonable people have stopped accelerating. Again from C&D "The extra horsepower is apparent at higher speeds, as the Turbo S was 5.7 seconds quicker to 140 mph and topped out at 166 mph versus 161."

wow thanks guys for all the input
1,Mark3D, i did not know that someone could actually rebadge the car into a similar model. thanks for the heads up. so the VIN will actually say that it is an CTT-S?
2, the website that Mr.Bigbuzuki provided is super cool, it gives the option details!
3, Mr.Carnuts, I guess the high end hp does not make sense to me at all if i never going to track the truck.
4, and Taddy, it is true that with lower miles it will sell faster.
thanks again guys.

I'd check for maintenance records and get a PPI also. Just because a car has lower mileage doesn't mean it's a better car. All things being equal, from a maintenance and PPI standpoint, I'd go for the 2005.

True I'd prefer it is runing regularly rather than sitting in the garage all the time.
some of the cars are already modified. In this case, should I avoid them at all or any perticular spots that I should be careful with?
thanks
