tiptronic S problems

any known solutions for the tiptronic S shift patterns? Have a Cayenne Turbo and when in automatic the shift patterns tend to want to jump to 6th gear. Alas going 40 mph on the highway, the car stays in 6th gear and when you go to pass then car's rpm's are down at 1,200 - noticable lag. Of course, can drive the car in manual tiptronic but that is a bit of a pain.

Is there a software upgrade to the transmission that would induce a different shift pattern?

Can one train the software to adapt a different shift pattern?

If you get the latest software, when you turn off your PSM, your gearing becomes more aggresive, it won't shift to 6th gear at low speed. It will stay in the lower gear.

The reason Porsche did this is to increase the consumption efficiency. Try to use your tiptronic or PSM off after you refuel, you will use more gas.

I got 6.9mpg when using the tiptronic in city. But I get a lot better mpg with automatic with PSM off. Around 8-10mpg.

nope, the cayenne always shifts up at relatively low rpms. Turn off the psm button and the shift pattern will change...
