Question Loud knocking noise coming from the rear passenger side??

Driving home this afternoon I heard a loud knocking noise coming from the rear under carriage of my CTT. At first I thought I had a flat, then it started to sound like a drive shaft was hitting the floor.
I put it up on ramps and everything looks fine
The knocking noise was intermittent while driving. Usually under acceleration , often from a stop.

I just drove it again and the knocks no longer there...Any idea whats going on?

Tks

J

You called it! Dealer replaced my Cardan Shaft assembly ($800.00).
She's as good as new.

At least our c's are predictable in their failures. Mine is now also shot - clunks when i come to a stop / start = some low speed vibration. $800 installed seams like a pretty good price for a stealer.

$800 for a complete drive shaft is a really good price from the dealer!
