Spark Plug Recoomendation?

2004 Cayenne S with 60,000 and its time to change the spark plugs. Any recommendations? Stock, Bosch or Iridium? Is it easy to do? Looks like two over lapping covers on top to get to the plugs, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

hi fred,

my reccomendation would be dont change them. I am on 80k with originals. they are technically 100k plugs, even though porsche says good to change at 60. I have noticed NO performance decrease.

06 CS

If you do change them, it isnt really fun. to be honest. and id stick with OE, you dont want to be doing them twice because a different kind you put in carbon'ed up.

It's not a bad job to change them out. Do a Google search you will definately find info on it. I went with Ngk Iridium plugs, they are working great. And a fraction of the cost of the O.E.M. Beru platinum plugs.

at 110k miles.........OEM's been sitting on installing my new plugs for 40k miles..........car runs fine might help gas mileage a smidgen at best to change.

Afraid mainly of the coil packs getting broken which are more expensive than OEM plugs.

The coil packs can overheat and fail due to misfires caused by bad plugs..

For the best price on OEM - Google the plug number. I found OEM (Bosch I believe, have to make sure by looking at my order) from Amazon - for around $4/each. At that price - it isn't worth fooling around with a non-OEM plug.
