How much do you spend on gas per week?

My commute is very short, only 12 miles round trip. Add in the other misc. errands and at $4.35 a gallon I am only spending about $40.00 per week. I think that I am getting away pretty cheap, as the other day a 120 mile round trip for work cost me about 30 bucks! So, I was thinking there must be some Cayenne owners pumping some serious cash into the tank every week.

Good reference. I am also from CT and I spent $200+ to cover ~35mi daily trip. Can't justify buying another beater for high gas price though. After a long 8~9 hours at work, I deserve AT LEAST 35 miles of big smile.

I never thought I'd say this for an SUV...

My trip to work is similar to yours. About 6 miles one way. That gives me 60mi for weekly trip. To cover that, I put in 60Mi/13(Mi/Gal)*$4.09/Gal = $18.9 per week (for work).
The problem is that after I get home, I usually find ways to get out run errands for wife and/or kids. That adds another $40 bucks very easily. So I would say between 60 and 100 per week is a ballpark figure for me. Adding to that, on weekends (every Saturday for the next 3 months months at least), both my boys have football games, and God forbid their teams played within 30 miles of each other. On top of that, my daughter has soccer games. Then we add the trips to their practices (4 times a night), plus driving daughter to her soccer practices twice a week.
To that, finally, we add my wife and her wants to take the car out for errands, or occasional want to take the car to work, and you end up with a car that is used for commute about 10% of the time. The rest is joy ride.
So I don't know...the $100/week is a very light figure. I would not be surprised if we had this doubled for each week. $800/month???
Wife recently discovered what turbo is for in a car...making long story short, I had to start restraining her from flooring out of the neighborhood, or we would be adding tire costs to this very quickly....lol

I dont always drive to work, sometimes by public transportation, somtimes by my lil ducati. Gas only really concerns me when I want to take a 200 mile(400miles R/T) trip to Vancouver.

I'm probably in the $25 per week range. My office is only 2-1/2 miles from home. I walked to work one day last week when the weather was nice.

I need to fill up my tank about every 8 days...sometimes 9 if I am lucky and skip a day of work somewhere in there...and it is about 85-90 bucks....I reset my trip odometer at every fill up and it shows usually around 250- 280 miles...So I am getting about 12.6 mpg...At least my work pays for my gas...HAHAHA

Wink

Wait? These things take gas? Who knew?

If I could drive the same car for a whole week at a time I'd have a better idea.

There was one day last week where I managed to used 5 different vehicles in the same day

If I was driving a honda and was spending this much on gas - wouldnt be pretty.
With the cayenne, I get in, close the door, start the engine, and I am ready to keep driving all day. worth every mile and every penny.

I discovered the continuos trackign data in the nav system in my CTT awhile back.

Check out the number of hours of driving vs the mileage. (sorry took the picture while driving across Nebraska)

This is on a chipped "Upsolute", APR BPVs, Plenum, 04 CTT.

I forgot this was the Cayenne we were discussing when I made my post. My $25 per week estimate is for the 911. My wife drives the Cayenne, and she's more in the $80 per week range. Oink oink!

Ditto here. Knew it won't be cheap but it is a Porsche. The only thing I would love more on a cayenne turbo is if they offered it with stock shift - now, that would be something to smile about.
Learned driving on a stick. A week later drive it to Montreal for a couple Weeks. Only way I got rid of stick was because needed bigger car and SUV cars did not offer such choices. One day though.....
