Check Engine Light Lit Up After Intake Installed

I was finally able to complete the intake installation last night, I can't describe how much joy I had at that moment. The thing that gave me the most issues is the lil air suspension hose. It doesn't like to connect to bind to the little tip tightly. And I still didn't know how I was able to get it on tightly now as the physics inside does not make sense to me whatsoever.

Anyhow, while driving on freeway today, my check engine light lit up. Is this supposed to be normal? If not, any tips on where I should be checking for this problem? I'm pretty sure that the pipes were clamps pretty securely (with the exception of maybe the air suspension). I dont wanna kill my engine for just an intake....

Any tip is helpful! Thanks!

I would see what the trouble codes are and fix from there. Have someone check them and report back.

^^^ Seems like the best advice. I'm going to bet that one of the MAF connectors is loose or the sensor got damaged - but that's a totally uninformed opinion.

Will I have to buy one of those OBD things to diagnose it? I noticed that the wiring harness for the MAF sensor is a bit too close to the engine, would that cause any short circuits?

Doubt that little filter for the air suspension would cause that. But it could be a MAF sensor issue. Check the connections again. Its possible that one is loose. Let us know!

And yes they are pretty close, close enough for the serpentine belt to rub it if its not clocked correctly.

I got some readings from Durametric tool, it's 0021. I did google this code, all come back as P0021. Are the two the same thing?

hey there. So is it running ok? camshaft timing error correct? Try a battery reset to see if it clears. If it doesn't then possible camshaft sensor issue.

The car seems to drive fine. But i'm not sure if it's camshaft timing, because I wasn't sure if 0021 is the same as P0021. I will try to reset the battery this weekend and see if it clears it up. Thanks for the tip. I am still convinced that it's somewhat caused by the intake that I have installed...

I understand what you are saying. I think I asked before, but you have checked all the hose couplers? no leaks right? Did you take the MAFs completely off? Try the reset or have it cleared..maybe it was a just a hiccup and won't come back. Good luck and let us know.
