Question on the cayenne s 04-06

Im looking to buy a 04-06 cayenne s. My question is what are common problems with them, how often do they need maintenance? From your experience or what you know. TIA

Common issues are well documented on this site. Cayennes are quite reliable once the issues have been addressed.

Don't remind me how many times I saw/wrote common issues posted all over this site. I seriously think that we should have a sticky for a first time 955/957 buyers.

I found it hard to believe there was no FAQ or sticky for this when i was looking as well. Sifting through a site to find common issues isn't easy, if you have an issue and do a search, that helps out but as a prospective buyer that did me no good. I bought an 06 turbo s that will be delivered in about 2 weeks but i will give you what i managed to learn but don't take it as a comprehensive list, and only off the top of my head....

04-05 trans valve body issues $$
air pump for suspension
speaker in gauge cluster
coolant tubes under intake manifold $$
leaky sunroof drains
overhead light switch contact problem

i was looking for turbo specific info so i may have missed issues with the v6

Let me add 2 more items for V8:
-cardan shaft
-spark plugs

I have V8 NA and did coolant pipe and spark plugs replacement so far. The car is running strong (but I only have mid-35k miles).
