Cayenne Nav system question

Hi all,
I just purchased a 2004 Cayenne TT from a dealer which is not nearby. My nav system does not appear to pick up any Sat data even when out in the open. The car has never been titled to an owner. It just sat on the dealer lot until now so nothing has been set up or configured. Does anyone have any clue why the system is not receiving sat data. Is there some enabling switch that I have not thrown? Thanks
Mike

My guess (and I think I am right) is that your NAV does not have the latest software flash and won't read the current generation discs shipped from Navtec. As I recall, the software version is 3.0. There is a way to show the version by pushing two buttons together, can someone tell him which buttons?

If this is the case, any dealer can do the flash. Tell the dealer to update the DME and check for any other updates or TSB service not performed, there are a number which should be or may have been done, but if the selling dealer is like most, the updates, DME update, NAV software flash have not been performed, since you say the car was never titled.

How are you determining that you can't see the sat's. Are you using the "info" button or are you pressing map and not seeing anything. If you are pressing map, have you ever inserted a NAV CD into the unit. If not there are no installed maps default or detailed in the system. Or as offroad911 said, the software version could be wrong, in that case someone actually put a newer CD in the unit and then you are using an old CD.

The car came with a set of three cds. I dont know if they are the lastest version. Yes, I looked at the info screen and see zero satellites being tracked. I thought it could be a problem with the antenna. Does anyone know where the nav antenna is?
Thanks, Mike

If it's an 04, then take it to the dealer. Let them figure it out since your under warranty.... I think the antenna might be in the rear spoiler, but I'm not sure. You may also want to set the tire change option in the nav so it resets itself.

If you have 3 CD's, these are the latest. Hit the trip and main buttons at the same time then select version. It has to be 3.0. If it is not the dealer is your only shot.

Unfortunately, I have the 3 disk set and the version is 3.0. Do you know where the antennae is for the nav system?

Its in the rear spoiler but I dont think its that, more likely your PCM is hosed.

Either way there is nothing you can do at this point its down to the dealer.
