Rotor and Pad Question

I just got a 2010 GTS and prior to the purchase I checked the pads and there was plently of meat. Later I noticed a ridge/lip on the rotor from wear but I am a little confused. The GTS only has 19K on it, the pads have lots of meat but the rotors look really worn. Do you think the rotors could wear that much in 19K miles on the original pads? Or do you think the pads have been replaced (but still on the original rotor)? If the later, should the rotors show that much wear after 19K? I plan on pulling a wheel and measuring the rotor thickness, but it looks like I will need new ones soon. Which is kind of a shame because the pads look pretty good.

20k is pretty common for needing pads and rotors. I would not be surprised if the previous owner swapped pads before offering it up for sale if they were getting worn, and they didn't want to pay for rotors (since they were selling it).

Yeah I kind of figured the pads were changed out, but the rotor wear was throwing me off. My Honda's pads/rotors look almost brand new at 26K miles, but then again it is not a Porsche (performance wise). Thanks for the feedback.

replace the rotors if they are below spec. no big deal except for the added expense.

porsche dealers no long just change pads. they will do pads and rotors together. so, i would check if the pads are OEM or cheaper aftermarket ones too.
