Cayenne 955 power fold mirrors
Cayenne 955 power fold mirrors
Hi new here and looking for a little help with my '05 S. So went to car wash and electrically folded my mirrors, when I returned to pick up car the mirrors were unfolded and no longer worked (either side). Car wash guy says they manually unfolded them because they weren't working. I shot this video to see if any of you have ever experienced this or have an idea of what is wrong. Thank you

I would say from the sound and what you described...there are gears inside there, either they snapped the teeth on the gears and the motor is now just spinning or its off a tooth causing it just to spin I would take it apart and inspect the gear. Hopefully they didnt break the teeth and its just off
Just wondering if it could be some sort of reset. I saw a post on a vw passat where the spring had to be compressed to engage the motor after someone forced mirror open. Also find it odd the pax mirror is doing same thing.

That is a good idea man I would check out the spring
[/HTML]Yeah I can't tell if its compressed correctly. Here is the thread I found on the passat ( I know it's not porsche but looked similar setup:

I should mention I don't see the clip the passat thread mentions.

By comparison the one you showed me although not sure if its a different angle looks a bit more compressed then yours. I assume there has to be a special tool to compress the that spring, only way I can think is a nice set of needle nose pliers or vise grips and wind the coil. Maybe there is a position where it locks back into place. You said the other one is doing the same, I think they are only synced by electronics not sure why the other would be the same way
