Ditching the E63 for GTS - What to Look For?

Happy New Year's everyone.

About a year and a half ago, I sold my C2 and picked up a family friendly W211 E63. We were thinking of having kids, and still will. But, I've never connected with the E63. It's fast. Brutally fast for me in a straight line, but it's lacking emotion. Just seems artificial and stiff.

So, I remember my GTS test drive years ago. I loved it. Thinking of getting a 08-10 GTS. Any big things to look out for? Will be doing a PPI for sure, but any other advice is appreciated.

Thanks

If you're coming from an AMG (W211 E55 in my case), definitely consider a turbo - either a standard turbo or the Turbo S model. You will not regret it.

Just Bought A Turbo

You will love the GTS or the Turbo, but the Turbo is incredible. My friend has the GTS and the only difference is the power. We have almost all the same features, but I have a moon roof.

I haven't owned mine long enough to watch out for any defects, but I will say you should get the Burmester audio system. The drive is fantastic, the seats are comfortable and the power of the car sounds beautiful, but the audio system will keep you going when you have to stick to the speed limit.

Thanks guys. I got the E63 because I really wanted to get a car with monster power, but living in LA, I rarely use it. I mean, rarely. I can dwindle down my "fast" driving to like 10 minutes a month, lol, sad.

It's great to have the power on tap, but it's been hard trying to find a Turbo with the sport package to match the GTS looks. Still hunting...

GTS is more fun as the sound alone doesn't seem to be duplicated in the Turbo.

2009 & 2010 has the updated PCM; can't see a manual in LA traffic.

full leather interior is something you have to see before you decide to buy. it is worth it imo.
