Comparable SUV to replace 06 CTTS out there?

First off.. love the PiG 59K miles and still going strong.. I've invested more on preventive maintenance more and kind of get the hang on the cost of things (full break job, coils, alum coolant) recently new tires and even replaced new TPMS just to get rid of that annoying beep..

But now i'm kind of looking to replace it.. half heartedly.. Q7 is one option mostly for the 3rd row, BMW X5M maybe? or just go up to newer Cayenne's?

Note: I intend to get pre owned as I cant afford new car prices..

My initial intent was to buy a preowned X5 and I found the cayenne.

You will not find an SUV (Stock) that shifts like your Cayenne. If you enjoy driving in manual mode, youll have a hard time finding something to compare.

When I was looking:
ML class AMG (just as pricey for major repairs)
Range Rover (not for cornering)
X5 (slow)

You may enjoy the Escalade for the space, power, and price.

I think most people here may be biased toward the CTT

I would suggest the 957 Cayennes 08-10. I made the switch from an 05 Cayenne S with 140k miles after doing the coolant pipes, the cardan shaft bearing went out & I decided I wanted a newer vehicle. After looking at every SUV sold (no kidding), I bought an 09 Infinity FX50s, nice car but I never got a good "feel" for it. I got rid of it in favor of a CPO '08 Cayenne S with 15k miles on it and never looked back again. The 4.8l engine response & steering/handling feel, made a big difference to me over the 05 955 Cayenne (& infinity FX50s). The 08 Cayenne now has 65k on it & all I have had to do to it was Brake Pads, spark plugs & coils (under warranty). It still runs like new. I liked it so much I bought an 09 CTTS with 20k miles on it & passed the 08 to my wife to drive. I can't imagine you would be happy with anything else once you get used to these.

I agree with mrbrianc. The 957 is a considerable improvement over the 955. As someone who routinely dives into part numbers, I am surprised at how much Porsche chose to replace/upgrade considering it is essentially the same chassis.

You also get the same 4.8 DFI engine that it still used today in the 958, but at a much better price point.
