957 CTT w/ upgraded brakes?

I am being told by dealer and by an indi shop that I have an upgraded set of brakes on my 09 CTT. They told me that this is a factory brake option on my CTT that is standard on CTTS.

I don't have access to all my new car docs at this time... can someone please let me know if there was a brake option for 09 CTT? Because the brake job quotes that I am getting are border line ridiculous and I just wanted to be sure that I'm not being told stories.

Also, are there better places to buy pads and rotors for our CTT beasts? I know Renaissance.Man said something about buying Brembo rotors on ebay. Is this still an option, even for upgraded brakes?

Here is a picture of my front rotor. I am being told that these are upgraded brakes with a two-piece rotor for which there are no aftermarket replacements. Is this true?

I had the car since new and no aftermarket work was done on it. I'm told that the hat (?) screwed onto the rotor (in the pic) is what makes this rotor 'different' than others. These also look somewhat like 380mm CTTS rotors.

Hey DirtyVegas,

Those are two piece rotors as opposed to standard single piece. My 955 CTTS also has two piece 380mm rotors and they are ridiculously expensive when compared to the one piece option. I'm not very familiar with the 957 so I can't say if it was an option. This is really interesting since you've owned it since new. I wonder if the 957 came with an e81 package as offered on the 955s? But, then again, it looks like people have searched your VIN...confusing.

Ok... so the indi shop wants $2,700 for parts (pads and rotors) and labor to do my front brakes.

sounds kind of high given that I priced out the front rotors with pads and sensors and came out to $1659 for parts. so say if you rounded it off say 1700 for parts, they are basically charging you $1000 for labor unless they are paying full price for the parts which I beleive jumps it up to over 2k in parts

Suncoast has the rotors for $1357, pads for $257, and sensors for $44. Is there anything else needed in parts?

How long should the labor be for something like this?

not sure what they charge for labor near you but I would think they would quote like 2 hours labor...as far as other parts maybe the new bolts I beleive there listed on the site also those are suggested. Oh and change your brake fluid as well its worth it
