I’ve been looking for the place where you say to use a small flat screwdriver to push spring. Do you have any pix or video. I have a deployed airbag I’m trying to replace. Thanks any help is much appreciated
You can only access the hole from the back after turning the wheel 90 degrees, otherwise it's obscured.

If the airbag deployed, you'll also need to replace the Pyro fuse under the driver's seat before you'll be able to get power back to the engine compartment and start the car.

If you have a 957, I have some leftover parts from my widebody build like a Drivers side Xenon headlight, Turbo S intercooler, TTS intake Y-plenum and some others. Let me know if you need any parts like that. If so, send me an email to petza914@gmail.com and I can send you pics and prices.

Thanks for the quick update. I used a jumper cable to start the car. Temporarily. I already ordered a new bag and the fuse. I just need to get that airbag outta there it’s driving me nuts. I haven’t seen any holes anywhere. Only the 2 tabs by the tiptronic controls. Which side is the hole.

I believe there are 2 holes you need to access. They're in the same horizontal position as the lighting switch buttons, but closer to the center hub.

Does anyone know if we can swap to a 958 wheel? I'm not worried about the buttons working, but I can't tell if the airbags have different connectors

You would probably have to have a look at the back of the 958 wheel to see if connectors are same and holes for springs, etc.
But only actually doing it, will you know for sure. I have not done so, my first guess is will not fit, as auto makers love to make things different.

Thank you!

Mine was not Masonry steering wheel. It was one I picked off eBay, where seller was selling. It had alcantara inserts and perforated leather, fat bottom. Ha been enjoying it for years now.

Here are some links you should check out, I think they look good - these are 955 gen wheels. 957/8 I believe have round hoorn middle, you can find them online too on ebay, seach porsche cayenne steering wheel flat
