Cayenne Turbo Discount??

Hey guys, my dad just found out about some tax law, that if you own a company and get a vehicle over 6000LBS that you get some huge (like 30% of the vehicle price) back in taxes or somthin and is thinking about trading our Escalade on a Cayenne Turbo... Just kinda interested to see what kind of deals people on here have gotten on the truck?? Keep in mind we are trading a vehicle, so the discount won't be as high, but what should be a GREAT deal on a Turbo??
Thanks,
Evan

ESK is infamous around these parts
The GVR of the Cayenne is over 6,000 lbs - I think it's 6,600. Actually, the accelerated depreciation for the first year is now 50% - I think it went into effect in May right after I bought mine - plus you also get to depreciate 1/5 of the balance. For example, if the price was $90K, your first year depreciation would be $54,000 (50% of 90k = $45k + 20% of $45k = $9k). If you're in the 33% federal tax bracket, you save $18,000 the first year. The truck has to be new though to qualify. Remember, if you sell the vehicle, you have recapture which is the difference between the selling price and the depreciated amount. You would pay taxes on this amount.

As for discounts, I got $4k off back in May when the '04s just came out. I think you could probably get $5k-$6k off now?

Did any of you guys have a trade?? Keep in mind we are trading our Escalade, and they are actually giving us a decent amount for it...my dad seems to think that with the trade they will give us 3-4K off sticker on the Cayenne...
Eric, yes that is the thing I was talking about, and yes the Cayenne is that heavy (with luggage, passengers, etc. which is what counts).
Thanks guys,
Evan

They will show more for your trade and give you less of a discount. Beat 'em up more. I got $10,000 off mine in NY and that's a tough market. People write checks out for MSRP around here.

well here is the scope.
under section 179 class C vehicles get a
standard $25,000 deduction and 33% amoritized over the year.
Depending on the price of the car, yes u can get more than 50% of the value deducted within first year.

That's why you wills ee a lot of doctors, lawyers and buisness men buy the H2, Esclade, Cayenee, etc

If you do a trade, I think you are only taxed on the difference. Lets say that the Cayenne costs 90 grand, and you can trade in you Escalade for 30 grand. You then are only taxed for 60 grand of the car, which can save you a lot of money.
