DIY V1 Hardwire install?

Anyone done this themselves and care to share some tips?
My thought was to hook into the power from the sunroof.
Thoughts?

Tap into the fuse block on the driver side, check the manual there is a free fuse that is powered when ignition is turned on, thats how mine was installed

CaptPegLeg is infamous around these parts
I did mine yesterday. I took less than 10 minutes. Just tuck the wire up in the trim around the windshield. I carried it down the passenger side around the top of the airbag cover and down between the cover and the black rubber door seal. Use flat blade screwdriver to pry open the fuse cover on the side of the dash where the air dash/door vent is and you can run the wire right into that area fully concealed. Use the V1 supplied adapter/fuse terminal. If you look at the bottom row of fuses toward the rear of the car you will see a couple of fuse positions with with some metal inside. I think either one of these will work to insert the spade terminal going to the fused terminal. There is a mounting hardare for the dash (unpainted) that has a couple of large holes in it already. You can use a big bolt and flat washer to attach the black ground wire or you can drill a small hole and use a self-tapping screw for your ground. Before you press the fuse panel cover back into place, check to make sure that you used a switched fuse position. The adapter has a piece of two sided tape to attach it to something flat near the fuse block. It was a lot easier than I anticipated.

Thanks very much for your detailed write up. I followed your direction and finished it in 20 min. Dealer wanted $325 and another tuner wanted $200. Nice to save that cash .........money for bypass pipes
