I don't think your car would shut down while driving if battery was weak. You're right on that. Is it possible maybe the battery was weak and car shut down due to fuel pumps which were fixed, and now due to weak battery it has hard starts? These may be separate issues. Does the car shut down while driving now, or has hard time starting up after prolonged time of not dtiving (hours). If not starting it is more plausible batt may be in play (especially if pumps replaced).
Is my thinking logical here?
Haven't driven it far because I can't restart this pig. So I'm not sure if it shuts down when it drives anymore. But it's not chugging when I give it a small amount of gas. I'm 95% sure it's the crank or the cam sensor. Which would be more likely?
The car would start every time before the fuel pumps were replaced. So I'm not 100% sure if it's the battery. It could be though. I'll have the shop check it out on Monday when I take it back.
Just went out side and started and restarted it after it sitting all night. no problem at all.
I'm thinking Cam or crank sensor, which is the one that people have had trouble with in the past?
Battery will be tested though when it goes in to make sure, but once again I'm 95% sure it's not that. But i'm not ruling anything out.
Have you actually seen a readout of the fault codes on the DME yet ?
No I haven't, I don't think I have any codes to my knowledge..... I'm definitely going to have him look at this tomorrow....
So small update, grew some ***** and took the truck out today. (Not sure if I'm stupid or ballsy) took it all around this morning. Didn't stall when running and started back up when I came out of food shopping. ( I was quick about 15 minutes) after I got home I let it sit for about 2.5-3 hours went back out and noticed little hesitation when starting, the rev counter dropped but it pulled its self back up, once again by its self. So I'm kinda at a loss. I really don't want to take it far to really do some tests but idk.
So I just went out side to close the sunroof, started it to see if it would start, It did the long crank and I put my foot on the gas and it was fine. What do you guys think?

Johnny B, after the long cranking this time was it down on power? Mine does that too but it runs smooth and is still low on power. Have an appointment to bring it to Perfection-Plus Porsche tomorrow (Monday). I have an intermittent CEL, I will let you know what they say...

I didn't drive it after I started it this time... Mine luckily doesn't have any check engine light (Nock on wood). Sounds like we're both in for a long ride...
Not off the top of my hand but look through for sale section of Porsche forums and you'll find for sure. I got mine from here and have 2 more cars space on it for future. Was 120 I think.
Taking car to dealer to diagnose will be same $$$ just to look at it. Then parts and labor will add another few hundred. Bill easily can get above 500 in these situations.
As I am bring in the truck after work today I do have a few questions on what to ask. (Forgive me for my ignorance) I should tell him to check the Crankshaft position sensor, or the camshaft one? I think this will be his second to last chance fixing the pig. If he can't fix it I'm going to suck it up and go to Porsche.

Actually, it would be better if you did have the CEL on, as you would have specific codes available in order to track down the fault.

It will be very difficult to "check" the crank sensor as your problem seems intermittent.
The fault codes will have to be read out.
I had fault codes for the crank and camshaft sensors,
I replaced the crank sensor, and both codes went away.
FYI, you can have fault codes on the DME even without CEL or other warnings on the dash.
Process of elimination is going to leave you frustrated and possibly cost you more.

I had both of those codes too as well as 6 others and my CEL was not on either. I had a fuel pump code in there as well. He saved my codes and then cleared them. The car acted up but only the crank fault came back. So I let them order one to install tomorrow in the am. It is a real fault as well as the cheapest thing to install. I will keep you posted...
