Cayenne Long Term Reliability
Cayenne Long Term Reliability
I bought my 2005 Cayenne S almost a year back. It has 12,000kms (about 8,000 miles). In the UAE, Porsche only offers a 2-year warranty, so its under warranty only for 1 more year.
I am happy with it so far, although there are some annoying problems e.g. noise after starting the car, sounds like the suspension height adjustment compressor, rattling noise behind rear seat, occassional vibrating noise from dash).
I especially would be interested to hear about cayennes with at least 40,000 miles or at least 2-year old vehicle & the reliability experience. For instance, if I keep it for another 3 years (2 of which will be out of warranty) and drive up to 50,000 miles, what kind of break downs can I expect?
Is it even advisable to keep the car our of warranty? I know I can buy a warranty extenion every year for $1,300 per year but that warranty would have some exclusions, so Im not too keen to go for that.
Thanks

Rattling noise behind the rear seat is probably that little latch for the cargo net - look at the center of the section behind the rear seats, near the headrest area, and see this little latch - it rattles like crazy. I had to stick some electrical tape into that area to stop mine.
