2008 Base Cayenne - Fuel Control Module
2008 Base Cayenne - Fuel Control Module
Hi all, I am new to the forum. I have a friend that has a 2008 Cayenne with 70,000 miles that was smelling fuel when the engine runs; They took it to an independent (real independent) shop; The shop said the problem was due to a failing secondary fuel pump; They changed it for $800.
The vehicle ran ok for just a few miles and started stuttering at idle like it was not getting enough fuel. When the accelerator was pressed, it would die. This shop is now telling my friend the problem is the fuel control module.
I can't find any information on a fuel control module on an 08 Cayenne. I even called a dealership parts dept. and they only saw 2 fuel pumps (one left/one right) with the same part number and a high pressure fuel pump. No fuel control module; Can anyone chime on this and also let me know if there is indeed a fuel control module on the 08 Cayenne? Is it possible it could be called something else? Thanks.
