Cayenne runs for 5-10 secs and then shuts off!?!

Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well and had a good start to 2014!

I have come across an issue this weekend with the fam's Cayenne S. Went to fill up and after that the car starts, runs perfect for 5-10 secs and then bogs down/shuts off.

What could this be? I am thinking fuel pump?

Any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance!!!!

Paul

Fuel pump failure is common for Cayennes. There are two fuel pumps. That might be a good thing to check first. When mine failed, my mechanic was able to test the pressure delivered by the primary fuel pump and determined that it was inconsistent.

Sounds like the primary fuel pump to me. Pull the fuse or unplug the pump and see if it will run on the secondary pump.

Specifically, you want part numbers for what year/model and components? Once you confirm, I will post with the corresponding part numbers.
