What Oil Thickness - High Miles

Hi

I have a 957 with near 200,000 kms on it, still running ok but wondering what oil brand / type you guys would recommend these days for a high kms motor.

Cheers
Steve

I’ve been using Mobil 1 5w-50 since my 2003 CTT turned 160k.

It now has over 270k and going strong.

No issues and I’m in Sydney.

Would suit your cane toad mild winter / hot summer climate no worries.

I hear some say that, but it's not on the list of approved oils? Also, I'm running the 955 Turbo, and my independent mechanic recommends Motul 0W40 (has the Porsche approval)

The easiest and ”safest” is go with whatever the sticker days under the hood/trunk. Easy peasy.

For some people like myself, I asked why Mobil 1?

So I've owned Cayenne, 911, Panamera, and Boxster.
I don't want to use Mobil 1 because I don't want to be told to use Mobil 1.

Hence, I decided on Rotella on ALL of my Porsches and motorcycles.

If you're not the type to question authority, go with Mobil 1.

To me, it's just a car. Nothing else.

I just want what's best for the turbos, engine, keeping things clean, and reducing wear as much as possible. I like to push the engine/drive-train hard sometimes because it's fun. But my shop recommends Motul 8100 X-Clean or whatever.. 0W-40 (which that weight is one of the recommended oil weights in my manual)

I run the 0w-40, not high mileage engine but should not matter,
