Hi All,

Could anyone with a Porsche Roof Transport System (OEM crossbars) on their 955 or 957 please measure the width and height of the cross section of one of the bars? I need to know if these OEM bars will work for a rooftop tent I want to buy. Part number 955-044-000-72, for model years up to 2010.

And if they fit and you have these for sale I’m interested!

I only have the roof rails, and not the track with cross bars. Not even sure if there are available accessories to allow me to carry a roof box :/

 

Suncoast actually sells crossbars that go over the factory roof rails, with a 165lb load capacity, you can try that. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/95504400035.html

they are essentially 4 inches high by 4 inches wide

 

Thank you for measuring it! Much appreciated. This confirms for any folks considering a Tepui tent mounted atop their 955/957 that the Porsche Roof Transport System will exceed the maximum clamping dimensions (3.25” L x 1.5” H cross-section).
