957 Turbo Best Launch to sixty methods
957 Turbo Best Launch to sixty methods
In the quest of embarrassing as many cars as possible with my 2008 Cayenne turbo with a few mods
, I googled the best procedure to launch it from a full stop. Google returned results that claim these steps: 1) foot planted on the brake, then 2) full throttle in Sport Mode, D mode will bring the RPMs to 2100 without the vehicle wanting to overpower the brakes. Is that actually true that Porsche has an informal launch mode? I mean it is afterall a Porsche first and an SUV secondly!
What I have tried so far: 1) I tried a slow RPM brake torque in D to the point of converter engagement, then hold till launch moment. Worked best. 2) Tried same thing in manual mode and also tiptronic mode. The tranny seemed to take an extra half second to decide to shift while banging off the rev limiter even when the signal to shift was sent before that moment.
I'm Trying to eliminate as much possible torque converter, turbo or engine response delay / lag off the line.
Any other best practice launch methods with the Tiptronic?
Thanks for any tips in advance!

Please explain why traction control should be off, cause my Cayenne Turbo breaks front and rear tires loose of pavement with 275 Y rated 20"s rubber, on a full launch wide left hand sweeper turn in the road. I have heard some cars don't fully disengage TC even when its selected as off. It's also up in hp from stock.
Thanks!
Thanks!
