Tow Package

Hey Guys,
My Wife and I just bought our first Porsche Tuesday night. It is a 2005 Black Cayenne with 15,000 miles on it. We have been looking for for months for the right one with all the options we want / need. The only option that this one is missing is the tow package.
I called my local Porsche dealer a few months ago when we were looking at a different one and they said it was around $800.00 to install a tow package. My question is what else is included in the tow package besides the ovious hitch receiver and trailer wire harness? Are there any computer upgrades or cooling system upgrades?

EDIT: BTW I did a search before asking my question and did not see anything.

Nope thats it, hitch hook up, and wiring, and programming to make use of the electrical connections.

What are you towing? Do you need to have brakes on the trailer or does you state require it? If so, you also need a trail brake system installed or you need to install it.

Thanks for the info.

I guess the local P dealer and I were not on the same page because now that I made an appointment for the hitch and now the price for the hitch is $1800.00. He said $1,200 for the hitch and $600 to install. I asked him what about the $800 I was quoted a few months ago. He said who ever I talked to made a mistake.

Is $1800 sound about right???

As for yetis question most of the time I will be towing a small motorcycle / ATV trailer and evey once in a while I will tow a 21 foot ski boat with serge trailer brakes. I do not need an electric brake controller at this time.

Thanks Again

Tell you dealer you will take the labour but you will supply the parts. Here is a good price. http://www.carlsenporsche.com/cgi/pa...04031714230219

Not a really cool dealer move.
