Got My New Rims Yesterday - Hit a F'n Curb!!

Well gentelmen, I got my new rims put on yesterday for my 06 CS and went to dinner last night with "the woman." While pulling in, I scraped the side of my rims pretty badly on the curb.... I was pissssseeeeedddd.

So, my next question, is there a way to repair them? Some touch up for rims with a silver finish?

I would talk to one of the board sponsors on the right. Sorry about the curb rash but hopefully you got laid...lol

I would love to try it, but I am not the "handiest" guy around. I would be afraid that I would make it look worse than it already is. Has anyone tried this?

i am going to try this sometimes in the near future.
I know my m3 wheels needs to be refinished. so i might do that to the M contours.

oh don't feel bad. check this out. A while back i put a new set of wheels on my 3 series and within 5 minutes of leaving the garage, i curbed it while getting on the main road. OUccccccch! I was very upset. i feel ur pain.
a repair like this will set u back 75$ or so.

I have (and keep) Wurth wheel paint and clear coat on hand. It is very handy and fairly easy to apply and has a great match, if it is not a deep scratch, you can sand, clean and paint, then re clear. You can use filler if you have done some deep scrapes.

Just tape everything off really well, because you need to use the silver paint 8-12 inches from the wheel or it will build up and run easily. The goes on in light coats.

You should be able to get the Silver and clear shipped for $25.00

Jlturpin,

I appreciate your feedback and I will be following your recommendation; however, I can't find anyone that has the silver paint in stock. They all seem to have the clear coat.

I can normally find in on line without a problem. If you can't find any in a couple of days let me know and I'll send you a can of mine.

Any pics of the damage? I have repaired plenty of wheels myself. Depending on how bad it is, it can be pretty easy.

Or there is a local place that does good work that I can recommend.

Where are you located?
