Stinkin A/C, Cabin Filter?

I noticed on initial start when driving the car the a/c vent will have a bad odor smell, and after awhile when driving it will go away. Does anyone know if this means the cabin filter needs to be changed? If so where's the cabin filter at?

I just bought my 05 CTT a week or so ago and don't have the manuals since the last owner lost it so thought I can ask some advice here.

Thanks.

Wayne

Try turning on the heat inside the vehicle. Set it at "max" heat for 10-15 minutes and it cooks the stench (mildew) out of the filter. It really works and is the cheapest repair ever!! I take donations though....

I just go it replaced by the dealer its due to not setting or clicking the ventalation button which circulates the air inside and with time it traps dirts, germs which affect the coldness of the ac and smell.

That's a neat trick. I'm going to have to try that on my weekend car.

Thanks for the trick I will try that, but I would like to replace the cabin filter if I can as well, no one know where the cabin filter is? I think most of the time they are by the engine bay passenger and driver side firewall top but I don't have my car today so I can't check.

I will give the heater a try.

Passenger side footwell, remove plastic kick panel, and two 5.5mm screws, door opens, filter comes out, reverse procedure.
