Arrow Thought on the new 2008 ML550

Well, since our small but annoying problems with our 2004 Cayenne S (water pump changed at 18,000 miles + turning light issues), the car has been working great since then!! In fact, my wife does not want to change it.

Also, we have seen the ’08 Cayenne, which is a fantastic car but for our taste the new super slick front does not flow with the whole part of the car, the old front does much better. Perhaps that front with a new full redesign car will work better.

Anyway, the ’08 ML550 look like a fantastic value. Start at $55,000 with AMG package as standard, 382hp 391tq, 0-60 5.6 sg!! that is old Cayenne TT territory for a half of price…

If you take the ML do you want to trade it for a Panamera or the C63? Or dou you trade the Turbo for it? I lvoe the ML550, it is a nice choice. You have still a p-car, and a Benz is also nice.

I just got rid of a ML350 for the CayenneS. Not trying to say the ML350 and ML 550 are the same but I doubt it'll be as the CayenneS in terms of handling and ride. The CayenneS is so much more fun to drive than the ML(as far as the ML I had). Either one would be a good choice but I also had problem with the paint on mine as well. Me and the wife have combined for 4 Mercedes before the Porsche's and we don't plan on going back.

We dont get the 550 over here yet but the ML 500 sport is listed at ÂŖ50k or the equivelant of $100k!!!!

The merc does look the fresher of the 2 cars though but the Porsche is always going to be more special.

My wife does not want me to change the Cayenne S for the 08 ML550....she likes the full leather and the PASM. The interior of the ML does not look as good as the full leather Porsche S.

I am planing the Panamera or the C63 as our 3rd car...more like a daily. We are currently using the Cayenne S for that and the 996TT from time to time. Thus, I want to keep the yellow toy more time at home.

How do you figure 382 HP is Cayenne TT territory? My 05 CTT is 450 HP and I guarantee it'll smoke that MB, 0-60 in 5 seconds according to most of the tests I've read and my own seat of the pants test says it's at least that fast...if that's what your into. It doesn't take much to push it close to 500 hp either. Now compare to a Cayenne S maybe. No doubt the MB is nice, but it's not a Cayenne Twin Turbo...sorry

I am 100% with you Cayenne TT is super, my point here is that a $55,000 ML goes 5.6 sg. 0-60 ......that is very very good for that price.
