As for the top vent, what the salesman explained to me when I bought the car is that it's just another A/C vent.

Not only is my A/C bad on my CS but it sounds like some kind of animal running around in the front dash board.

Does anyone else get that occasional funky smell from the AC?

Only takes about 2-5 mins on max to be "too cold"

Try a new shot of freon(sp).........

The consensus seems to be that the AC blows (excuse the pun) unless you bought a turbo....

Sounds like it's only a problem with the V6 models.

Works well and gets cold within 3 minutes, I had the dealer replace my ac cabin filter and it works great now.

Yup Deputy...I agree...I got a V6 too...in Texas. My buddies' Tahoe is a refrigerator in seconds. Embarrassing.

Like a Volvo 242DL Turbo I use to drive...Aint made for Texas heat. Better suited for the cool mountains of Europe.

I tested mine yesterday, 97F outside.

With the fan set at 50% in recirc mode, it took 13 minutes to get "cold"... with it at 100% and in recirc mode it was "cold" in 5 minutes.

i guess this is all subjective. my "cold" may be different from your cold. i know my version is definateley different from my wife's as we're always battling over the thermostat my neighbor has one of those vent temp thermometers. i may borrow it this weekend and see what my ac is blowing out at.
