Protosport/Protomotive Cayenne Turbo!
Protosport/Protomotive Cayenne Turbo!
Hey Guys,
I've been meaning to write a review and post up some pictures but just haven't had the time. Recently I had Protosport in NJ do some upgrades to the wife's car. I had them install the following...
EVO Intake
Custom Exhaust using Magnaflow Mufflers
Protomotive Software
The primary goals for these modifications were...
Better throttle response
Throatier exhaust note
Overall sportier feel
Well after having some seat time I can say I am very impressed with the work. As usual Paul and John at Protosport were a pleasure to deal with. We decided to put custom tips on the exhaust which would match the tips on my 996TT exhaust they did a while back. The workmanship is unbelievable and the sound is great. Throaty at idle but a beast under WOT. I don't know what kind of power it's putting down now, as we have yet to dyno the car. I would "estimate" it at around 520 or so.... The way the car builds boost now is just insane. It rips to full boost so quickly and pulls so hard you would never think it was a 5000lb+ truck! I don't know how much boost it's actually hitting since the gauge only reads a maximum of .8 but I plan on putting a mechanical boost gauge in soon to have a better idea of what's actually going on.
The next modification I'm planning on doing is some sort of lowering kit. Either links or a module. Just haven't decided which since I have never ridden in a car with either.
I will try and post up some pictures this weekend when I have more time. I just wanted to let people on the boards here know about some great upgrades that are available for our Cayenne Turbos!

Congratulations, I have similar mods as you and also pegged the factory boost gauge at or beyond 0.8 bar. Truck is a beast. However, can you tell me if you get this abrupt power transition at or about 3100-3200? Mine seems to do that and after research no one really have a clear answer other than the fact some people said it's normal due to the variable cam timing switching during that rpm (hence the abrupt power transition).

Hey Griff,
In the pictures it is in Loading level. I'm still trying to decide what to go with for the drop.... Module or links....

I have links that i have yet to put on, not sure if I am going to do it. I would rather have a module so I think I am going to wait and do that.

Str8blst I have a modded 04 CTT as well. I have a question for you (or anyone else with an 04 CTT), does your transmission feel sloppie and/or idoes the shifting feel jerkie at times? I drove an 08 CTT recently and the trannie felt alot better than mine. I'm trying to see if its an 04 thing or my car.
Thanx

Thanks for the compliment! I'll try and take a video this weekend for you guys!

My Turbo never had the jerky transmission issue but my old 04 Cayenne V6 did. I never was able to get it worked out even after the ECU Flash. I ended up trading it in for this CTT instead...
Good Luck!
