How far did you drive before adding more? Some people have driven 60 miles before the sensor recognized oil was added.

4 qts as 4 of these ? because that's not possible, each segment on the electronic dipstick = 200ml (0.2 qts)

You've got 4 segments and you need 800ml (0.8 qts)

yes, then maybe my gage isn't working properly. I have read others who had to add 3-4 quarts as well. I am going to bring to the dealer to make sure all is ok, but so far no leaks or excess smoke

Just curious, how far did you drive from when the "low oil" warning message came on until you added the 4 qts?

back from the deal and all was fine, he did say I am at the max level so maybe added more than needed but no issues or need to drain oil. not sure why some burn more oil than others in the first few thousand miles maybe it is driving style.

the oil consumption doesn't bother me, there are worse things. Not being able to check the oil easily is rather annoying. Oh well

Hey Dreamer, where did you come up with that 17 mile figure? I couldn't find it in the manual.

I do not beleive there is any hard and fast rule, but anytime you open the cap on the oil, the digital guage will need to rest which will require some driving.

In my case, I looked at 900 miles because I was concerned that the guage was not correct as I was all green and it took at least 20 minutes of driving( not all continuous) before it registered.

I am now at 1500 miles and the guage reads I am down to one green bar and will wait until it tells me "all is not ok" to add a quart. I think the dealer told me there are 6 or 8 quarts in there already so I am not terribly concerned about topping off.

I'm at about 500 miles and according to my oil level display there hasn't been any decrease in oil. Driving style might have something to do with it. I haven't pushed the car at all....yet

I have decided not to worry about it anymore and if I get the light I will just go to the dealer for a check and top up. They said we can go anytime
