2011+ Low Dust Pad Options

Has anyone found a ceramic or lower dust option for pads for the 2011+ Cayennes? I have found a couple random front pads but no rear.

Maybe I have the wrong idea here. I'd have thought ceramic pads have to be mated with ceramic rotors? Or can you actually use them on steel rotors?

I don’t have the ones I posted but generally they are ceramic-enhanced organic pads that work with steel rotors. I got the Axxis Deluxe ceramic version for less dusting than the OE pads for my Cayman after I got the wheels painted white. The first bite wasn’t like OE but I’ve gotten used to it. Now I can go for a short drive and not see the specks of black brake dust.

I just completed an online J.D. Powers new car survey on my new diesel Cayenne, first one I've completed. It's a very thorough survey.

The only complaint I logged is the amount of brake dust generated by the front pads (there's actually a place in survey for brake dust issues). I gave them my .02 cents on the amount of dust from the front pads, which I feel is excessive for a $70K car.

I have three german vehicles: bmw, MB and 2012 CS. The brake dust on all of them is ridiculous. That said, this is a normal by-product. I have been using Armor All Wheel Protectant. Pretty damn effective.

Thanks. I heard it works well also and will be ordering a can.

I had a Mercedes SL500 with ridiculous brake dust also and changed the pads to Akebono pads and it cured it. I don't think they make for the cayenne thought from what I could find.

I'm quite pleasantly surprised with the lack of dust from the brakes of my Turbo compared to my 08 S.

I have sealed the wheels well with sealant and then a couple of coats of good quality wax so maybe it's that that has made the difference.

I was thinking of doing the same on the wheels. Also seeing a lot of good stuff about the Optimum Opticoat 2.0. Seems like it might do a long term seal on things.

I opted for the $8800 brake dust destroyer addition..... also known as Ceramics. Works perfectly every day.
