OEM Sport Exhaust

i've been researching this w/ my local dealership and wanted to get everyone's opinion. It looks to me like the Turbo has a sports exhaust from the factory. I do see that the part numbers are different between the turbo, V6 Sport Exhaust and S SE, but what could really be different? The way the cans are packed???? Anyone know?

My thinking is that if i came across an oem turbo exhaust that someone swapped out, why not try that on my V6 instead of the sport exhaust for $3k?

Thinking of how 996 guys take oem 997 shifters (used after ssk has been installed).

INDV6 is infamous around these parts
I recently ordered a sport exhaust for my V6 from the dealer and at the same time my friend ordered a sport exhaust for his S. They have different part numbers but I dont know if they are physically different. There is a 4 week delivery time and I will only know when it arrives.

I'd heard from someone else on this forum (check the Sport Exhaust for 2011 thread) that the turbo does not have the valves that make the exhaust quieter at idle, and louder at full throttle. Altho the turbo's exhaust is still billed as "sports exhaust". With the valves, when not in sport-mode, the valves are supposed to lower exhaust volume at or below 4000 rpm, whereas in sports mode the valves are always open.

Maybe someone with a turbo can confirm...

hello yes it was me i talked about the sport exhaust ,, we have cayenne turbo and cayenne s 2011 ,, turbo doesnt have a sport exhaust and i am sure its just the tips ,, its exclusive for the s and v6 ,, the S with sport exhaust is much much louder than the turbo ,, where the turbo is stock factory exhaust wich doesnt include valves like the sport exhaust..

Personally, i think i could love without the valves. If i could find an OEM turbo exhaust for free, i may try this

I wish someone out there could confirm the differences. Wouldn't want to lose performance, but i can't see how that's possible w/ just a muffler.

I think his is CS not V6, and he did post a video, go to the thread I mentioned: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...st-2011-a.html

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish with getting a turbo sports exhaust system. First, not sure it would directly bolt on to your V6. If you just want the look, just get the tips (way cheaper than buying the whole exhaust system). If you want the sound, you're not gonna get it with the turbo one, since it doesn't have the valves.

My recommendation would be to either get the actual sports exhaust for V6 with valves, or add the dual round tips and a fabspeed bypass pipe (would accomplish almost the same thing for much less money, but you wouldn't have a soft/loud mode, only loud mode).

Basically, instead of spending $3k on the sports exhaust, I could be a used TT exhaust for next to nothing and accomplish them something, in loud mode only, and have an oem part.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. My only concern would be how it would sound.
