HID Foglight conversion

Is not recommended to run 55w for the fog lights.
The heat might melt the housing.

That was going to be my next question. Thank you for the help!
The new fog lights should be in next week.

Is a lot easier to swap the bulbs for the non turbo model.
Turbo model have intercooler behind the foglight. Tight fit if you have big hand, removing the wheel will be a lot easier.

I bought one of their kits because my cayenne came with halogen headlights, I also bought the resistors to prevent errors but when I got the kit I wasnt able to install the bulbs correctly because the housing doesn't have the neccesary clip to hold the bulb in, I then tried to crazy glue the bulb in (ghetto) but when I turned them on I got a 'headlight dipped' error and one of the bulbs wouldn't come on half the time, that plus the fact that im sure that the heat from the bulbs would have melted the glue and I probably would have burned up my housing made me take the whole kit out.
It is a really annoying problem. I have asked a buddy of mine who is really good with the HIDs and he suggested to get a CANBUS HID ballast with AC Current NOT DC. He then gave me a lengthly explanation why it needs to specifically be AC and not DC. With this ballast he said, it has built in error eliminator.
I have not tried it yet. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

How hard was it to swap out the stock hid low beams? I have several extra sets from my 911 so will likely try to reuse them. I'm assuming the headlights pop out just like they did on the 911 and everything else is about the same? Hopefully my 911 kit for the fogs will also work on the CS

If possible, I would try using CANBUS AC ballast to see if they are error free. The ddmtuning ones I got were slim ballast, DC, non-canbus and are not 100% perfect.

has anyone figured out a way to turn the fog lights on AND still have the headlights in "active" mode, so they turn left / right when going around corners? It only works when the switch is in 'auto', but then you can't turn the fog lights on. weird logic.

installed the low beams a few days ago and have gotten fault codes twice already. noticed that one of my low beams wasn't working anymore so figured i had one bad bulb but this morning turned the car on and both worked again... don't want to send them back just to get them returned because they couldn't reproduce the problem. any one have similar issues with the low beams?

No error code yet.
Might be a bad ballast. Trying swapping the bulb to the other side. If it happen again def a bulb / ballast problem.

Here are my 0.02. Got my HID foglight kit from XenonSupply.com. According to the website they have CANBus AC ballast which should be more stable, last longer without throwing error messages.
I have 4300K to match the factory HID headlight. When it first turn on, it will have blueish tint. After about 15 seconds, it turns more white/yellowish. Due to non-projector housing, at some angle it will look more white-ish. So far no error message, the unit is solid build. The cost of this unit is higher than the ebay units, but stuff like this connects to the whole electrical part of the car, I will not save my lunch money over this.
