Typical Mileage From A Tank Of Gas

Hey all, I was just wondering what you are getting for a tank of gas as far as mileage? I have a CTT and while I am still under the break-in period, I'm getting about 300miles per 19gallons of gas. I usually fill it up before it hits the red area so there is no chance of ruining the fuel injectors. The manual says that you will see better fuel economy as you get out of the break-in period. So, I'm wondering what you are typically seeing for mileage and describe your driving habits.

im getting 21.5 mpg with my V6 so far (1800 miles on the odo), I live out in the country so its a lot of back road driving with stop signs and traffic lights. I have the extended range gas tank so im probably getting around 450 miles out of a tank

On my CTT averaging 10,000 miles I get 18 mpg.
When I drive city I find myself getting about 16 mpg bc I do use those turbos
When on highway I cb easily get 25 mpg at 85 mph

I just came back from a 4 day 1700 mile break car in trip(lots of altitude change and temps from 68-101 within hours) from L.A. to West Texas and back with stopovers in Scottsdale both ways.

I averaged around 82 mph at 20.5 mpg, and was getting over 420 miles before I would fill up, not when my tank was empty but fuel was low.

On a side note, what an awesome vehicle, I know it's only the S, but I never was hurting for more power, as a matter of fact I found myself using the cruise control quite often as a precaution, something I never use. There were many times I would be talking to my Wife and look down and see that we were doing 105+ and never realized it as the car was so smooth, quiet and firm and the sensation of speed just isn't there. It also doesn't help that with the 8 speed your barely pulling over 2300 RPM at that speed.

Ya, I get the same thing with the speed thing. It's just so smooth and quiet that you don't notice how fast you're going. It's pretty awesome and scary at the same time. Wouldn't want to get pulled over doing 100+.

2012 Cayenne S Hybrid - Getting average 21 mpg in city if I just drive normally. Can get 28+ mpg by coasting and using e-boost to extend cost. (see other thread.https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...riences-q.html) The Parallel Hybrid system allows you to better select when and how to use the battery than any other hybrid out.
Also agree about speed, found myself at 114 and did not realize was going that fast...

Wow, 114mph? Geez, that's like instant impounding and probably go to jail.

But, that's pretty cool what the hybrid offers. So, it sounds like the specs are more conservative than real world? Usually it's the other way around.

No, I know it's nothing for a Porsche, I'm saying doing 114mph on a highway could get you in a lot of trouble. :P

CTT
I am averaging about 9-12mpg.
If I wanted something with good gas mileage I would have bought something from Japan!

Exactly, I know in Arizona anything over 100 can be impounded depending on the mood of the officer. That would be awesome to be between Phoenix and Tucson and have to deal with that on a 110 degree day with the family in the car.

That is exactly why I was using my cruise control, my darn Cayenne wants to go fast.

Everytime I accelerate fast onto the highway, I feel bad because it seems like I'm holding the car back. I hits 75-80mph so fast and it feels like its just getting going, but then I have to take my foot off the accelerator. I think I will have to take the Cayenne onto a track at least once to really open it up.

I remember getting in the upper teens on my Cayenne TT on the Highway, and getting somewhere in the low to mid Teens around town. This was driving the car pretty normal, so when I really drove the TT the way it was meant to be driven, my AVG MPG went down considerably... (:

Speed Thrills in Any Porsche !!!!
