I've done this at least 3 times last week. After parking the car, I start to walk away with hand in pocket pushing what I thought was lock button, only to see the rear hatch open. Like an idiot, I had to walk back to close it.

On our other cars the hatch button on remote requires longer than normal push to activate. Is there a way to program this into the Cayenne?

 

Definitely have done that, and not that I'm aware of, but lmk if you figure out a solution. I think it would have been better to hold for 2 secs before the hatch pops open.

 

You will get used to it. I remember doing that quite few times initially.

 

the older 2008 version required you hold for 2 seconds before it opened. I asked dealer if there was a way to reprogram to this default back when initially purchased but they said no. they come that way, no way to edit.

 

about every 5th time i lock the car, kind of a pain in the a$$, came back one time in a mall parking lot to the back wide open, ha

 

Definitely had this experience when we first got the car. I was walking out of our garage and the garage door was closing...I hit what I thought was the lock button on the CS in my pocket but instead I hit the hatch...so now the hatch is opening and the garage door is closing and since our garage is an older garage its smaller meaning that its a collision course. I hear the hatch opening and run back just in time to push the hatch (to stop it from opening anymore) and also trigger the sensor on the garage to stop it from closing. Could have been a disaster after only a week of owning the car.

Since that day I am super careful about locking the car then putting the keys in my pocket.
