Factory PSI for 20" Wheels
Factory PSI for 20" Wheels
For those who has 20" wheels, what is the proper/ factory setting for the tire pressure? I replaced the factory 18" with set of 20" wheels. The ride is very stiff and bouncy with factory setting tire pressure for 18". On the shoulder of the contact surface isn't showing any wear, so I am pretty sure there is too much air, but what is the proper for the 20s?
Thank you for your advise.

Hi nhirsch,
Thank you for your post. This is what psi I am running right now. How does your car ride? Do you have PASM or PDCC on your car? I have regular suspension, I feel it is way more bouncy then I expected.... My son's cheek was jiggly all over when driving on the southern california freeway...

Check your manual. If you drive under 100mph and usually only carry passengers, you can set it at "Partial Load, under 100mph" PSI. For the 21" that we have, it is set to 34F/39R. Make sure you also set the type of wheel size, tire type and pressure settings in the Multifunction display so that the warnings correlate to the wheel specs and the TPMS is working properly.

My CTT runs like a f**k'n dream. I have pretty much everything on it including PDCC, but no Burmester sound or Entertainment consoles (opted for iPad holders/iPads instead). But the question you didn't ask is what PSI I'm running which is not what is on the sticker but is the PSI that Porsche put on the car when I drove it out of the factory at Leipzig. That is 44/39. How it feels is a little like the wheels have some kind of double stick on them as I go along and around curves. Have you tried the comfort setting, normal setting and sports setting differences? Is your son overweight?

I also run 44/39 on my 22s
Worried the ride would be too firm, but not at all..the AS works like magic

By comfort/normal/sport setting, I assumed you mean the PDCC? I didn't opt that on this car, maybe I should have...
I won't say he is overweight, his weight and height is on the top 95% of his age, so I would say he just outgrow most of the babies for his age, lol. His feet sticks out little bit and the head is almost an inch from the top, it's time to put him on the Recaro Pro-RIDE~
I will give a try to put the tire on 39/44 to see how it rides, thanks for the advise~
Good luck w/the test.
My sticker says 39/46; that why I asked the question - never saw rear/front before; tell any mechanic you want 44/39 in your tires and you'll get 44 in the front.
OK, I agree. Makes sense as the sticker shows the front tire pressure first above the line for the rear tires. The spare pressure is the last line. (picture of sticker in thread above)
