Engine needs to be replaced
Engine needs to be replaced
My leased 2012 CTT ( have had 2 others) with 3000 miles was making a ticking type engine noise of which Porsche service could not figure out what the cause. So Porsche, I was told ,"just" wants to put a new engine in !? Not sure if I want a vehicle with a replaced engine. The service manager says Porsche may compensate me with something and asking what I want him to ask them
for . I said maybe a performance package, he says there are none for the turbo. I thought there was one ? They also have a 2013 CGTS that is built to my specks. Should I try and get Porsche to lessen the blow on the buyout of the CTT and get the CGTS ? Thanks for any input.

Just curious, if it is leased, you really don't own it. Why even worry about a new engine. I wouldn't. Just have them replace it and while you wait, ask them for a 991 loaner :-)

I like the fact Porsche is willing to compensate you for the motor. I guess this is why we pay more for a Porsche vs. BMW or Mercedes. Its level of service to you are provided when buying a Porsche. I just a purchased a 2013 Cayenne S for the wife because her X5 is a lemon and BMW has bought back the car. I appreciate that BMW repurchased the car, however it took multiple calls to BMW North America before they even responded. My dealer stayed out of the whole thing and never even offered once any type of compensation. I feel better knowing that based on your situation, Porsche is willing to go the extra mile to help their customers out. I suggest, if the car is leased take the replacement motor instead of the GTS. Get the GTS when your lease is over.
