Porsche Pre-paid service plan

I got it for my '13 Cayenne diesel. Seemed like a good value with oil changes every 5k miles. $2000 for 30k, $2900 for 40,000- all maintenance. It can be added after purchase up until the first oil change at 5,000 miles. It is not refundable but transferable upon sale. Tied to the VIN # so it doesn't matter where it's done.

Thanks for the info. I keep asking my dealer and they still don't have the info. What did you actually mean for "$29k" since that doesn't seem right in the context?

Think he meant $2900. I'm thinking about getting it too.

I have a photo copy of the plan for the gas cars and my dealer said it "should" be the same for the diesel. Basically you buy it for the first normal or major service interval and it includes all the scheduled maintenance (oil, normal, and major) in that period.

Doesn't make sense for the diesel. Not counting oil changes and AdBlue (which legally we can do ourselves at significant savings), minor service is at 20k/60k/100k and major service is at 40k/80k/120k. The transmission service isn't even until 16 years or 160k. So $2900 for a 4/40k prepaid plan would pay for one minor service, one major service, and at least 3 oil changes (5000 miles or once a year). And since there are no major OR minor services at 30k or 50k miles, there doesn't seem much point in buying the either the 3/30 or the 5/50 service

Whoops, my bad. I meant $2900 not $29k. I makes more sense if you change the oil every 5k miles that Porsche now recommends in the states ( i got the email from the dealer). I'll see if I can post exactly what is recommended and covered.

Pretty sure it's just scheduled maintenance, as listed in the manual for your particular vehicle. Your warranty should cover those other items.

i didnt get it on mine. if you do the math youre not really saving that much money anyways. if they covered wear and tear items like brakes, rotors etc also like bmw does for the same price, i would have got it. but, i plan to do all the maintainence stuff myself as its not difficult for me and i enjoy working on my cars.

It is my understanding that the prices for the pre-paid service plan were determined when the CD was supposed to get oil changes at 10k intervals after the initial 5k service. I thought maybe getting them at 5k intervals instead of 10k would tip the balance in favor of the pre-paid plan. A couple posters here or at rennlist said they were charged $300 for the first service or $265 after their PCA discount. My service guy said that sounded a little high to him. Since I won't be doing the oil changes myself or having an independent do them, doing the math, it's probably close to being a wash. If labor rates go up, if the minor at 20k or major service at 40k go up, I may make out a little.
My dealer is local, they pick up my car at the office (which I won't do with the 991S) or give me a loaner n/c. Every 5k miles will be 2-3x/year for the CD. The price seems a little high but hey, it's a Porsche where leather interior is an extra $5,000 on an already expensive car. Maintenance is include in BMW's; my son is buying an Audi S4 and the 4 year pre-paid service plan is $800- more like it. YMMV
