Need a new winter car
Need a new winter car
I am new to this forum and new to Porsche. I currently have an F10 M5 and I need something that will do better in the winter (I live in Toronto and we had a bad winter).
I test drove the GTS this weekend and it exceeded my expectations. I didn't get a chance to drive the Turbo or the Turbo S yet. I didn't like the Range or the Q5/7 and I don't like the look of the new X5. My question is which dealer would anyone recommend in the Toronto and what kind of discounts are people getting off MSRP?
Thanks

if % discount / best deal is important to you, and it is truly a winter car, why not also test the base v6, and if you like, use the engine savings on the long porsche options li$t. you already have a sports car that anything less than the turbo s cant match performance wise. or are you thinking of eventually replacing the bmw with the cayenne?
Went to the Woodbridge dealer.. they were pretty good in terms of service. Only knocked 2.5% off of the V6 MSRP though. Ask for Vincent and tell him Rob sent you.
We unfortunately received our Cayenne after most of the snow was gone, so I still have no clue how well it will perform for our winters :P

Even though i usually like either a V6 (as a functional SUV) or a Turbo (if Hp is a must why not get the king) I read your post and feel that for a snow region a gtS really might be a great choice . It has AWD , a great suspension , a seamless NA engine which is very precise and that's what is needed in winter driving , and is not priced out of sight. Plus it seems like porsche built a lot of them because dealership inventories have a significant amount of them(points to a price deal) .
The M5 is a nice car but I have always felt that a sedan of that weight /size and Hp should have been equipped with AWD and that's my guess at what's the big issue in a winder drive .
I would opt for a GtS for your circumstance . Drive the Turbo and V6 before making the choice . Good Luck.
