Now the black Sports Edition wheel will torture you with the constant brake dust and the many surfaces of that wheel which will need cleaning. As many have said the PCCB eliminates that problem. The Big Easy got so tired of dealing with the brake dust that he converted his to the complete PCCB brakes. (waiting to hear how he made out with that)
I am still thinking of ordering aftermarket ceramic pads and changing just the pads.

Rob
I heard my name........love the PCCBs and I really shouldn't have ordered the CTTS without them but I originally decided to use the $$$ for the Akra evolution exhaust.

Now, the piggy bank is broken! I blame RAK and PEPPER!

Cheers,

I will testify that RAK and PEPPER are to blame for your financial state of affairs.

1. CQ1 - wheels are painted in black (no metallic!)
2. CN5 - wheels are painted in body color (Jet Black Metallic)

"I would prefer CN5 - I would not like a difference between body-color and wheel-color!"

My thoughts: I would also recommend the wheel arches painted (extra cost), not just in bumper color black for the 21" wheels.

My Euro delivery should be ready by the end of Nov. I ended up going with the espresso / cognac interior, but otherwise similar "blacked out" exterior.

Good luck with your build!
Thanks for the info. I find it odd that the the CQ1 are $325 more than the CN5. But who knows....

Oh yeah- Like SmittyCat said- The wheel arches painted is a nice touch. I regret not getting that.

I did the front windows and windshield (very light tint) with the 3M Crystalline and it matched nicely and should have the UV and heat rejecting properties like the tint you mentioned. How much to they bang you for the thermal glass? And I assume you would still have to get the front windows tinted if you want that matched look.

Thermal glass is listed at $1120. Is that for all windows, rear, and pano? For the ceramic tint it ran me close to that.

As for the arches, I believe the CTTS has them painted as standard.

I looked at the turbo, it was my first choice, I wound up with a GTS. I may be unpopular stating this but I think the GTS looks better and the fact that I saved 30k was nice too. I like the GTS ride and it adjustable, so when you want it comfy it can be and when you want it sporty it can be. I also prefer a naturally aspirated engine, I realize that this is a personal preference, not looking to start a thread war. I have owned twin turbo cars as well so I am not a hater.

Drive both for a day and make a choice.

Any P car is overkill for driving the family around it just depends on how much overkill you willing to fork out.

Good specs. I have a turbo. Don't get the Turbo S, it's a waste of money and it's only 0.1 seconds faster from 0-60. You'll never notice that and it costs way too much for that kind of performance improvement. I don't know of any other advantage for the Turbo S... so save some money and get the Turbo and then add carbon brakes if you want (although they aren't really necessary unless you plan to track the car). Definitely, 100% get the ACC system. It's very useful in stop / go traffic. And leave the active safety system on... you'll be happy if it ever saves your *** in a moment of not paying attention.

Great build! I just ordered a CTTS with about the same options. I see you're from San Francisco too , which dealer did you get it from?

No worries here. The GTS was/is the other option on the list. Still haven't made up my mind completely yet.

I'm going through Cartelligent who I believe is working with Rector down in Burlingame. Which dealer did you go through? Anyone better than the other for servicing?

Not sure what part of the GTS you think looks different from the Turbo. The only difference I think is that the GTS has the regular exhausts and the Turbo has the individual ones. Otherwise, I believe the cars look similar. Also, the Turbo has an adjustable suspension (soft, normal, sport) as well.

The GTS is fantastic, don't get me wrong... but not sure that it offers any advantage (aside from savings) over the Turbo.

On the other hand... the Turbo S does not justify the significant price increase, as it's only 0.1 seconds faster from 0-60 and is otherwise the same. That's hardly a performance upgrade and I think they are just making money off of the "S" badge and not much else.

I believe the GTS comes standard with the SportKit where as on the Turbo you would have to add it on.

As fo the Turbo/Turbo S, my original intent was to get a Turbo only. Spoken with the dealer and Porsche NA and there are no Turbo allocations left that would deliver the car to me before end of year. I need to have the car in service in order to take advantage of IRS 179. Have looked for an off the lot model, but haven't found one that met my criteria. So I am mulling whether to accept less or go with a Turbo S build.

Also on the Turbo S, there are some of the options I was looking at come standard: PDCC, PVT, CF trim, extended exterior in high gloss, and some other minor ones.

I've heard nothing but good things at Sonnen. I would've love to have gotten my car through Sonnen, the staff there were great but they didn't have any slots to order til a lot later. I ended up getting it from Porsche of Fremont, they gave me the best deal and had a slot for next month. I think I'll probably go back to Sonnen for servicing though.
