I have a 2014 Cayenne S and i noticed when i turn the car off. the analog clock in the center of the dash will go to 12:00 and stay at that time. then when i turn the car back on the clock will move to the correct time. is this correct behavior? is it some sort of power saving mode? or is it broken? the only thing i can think of is that power gets shut off to the clock as to not drain the battery and it moves to 12:00 so you know its off.

 

Completely normal.. Gotta love the German ingenuity

 

It should continue to work for a few minutes after the car is turned off and then restarts when you unlock the car (or start it I assume if you don't lock it). Both my analog and its replacement sport chrono do it.

Freaked out the first time I saw it happen while I was doing some work inside it. I think its kinda cool though.
