PCCB Worth the Expense on an SUV?
I'm torn. I like them and I wanted them, but they were way out of my budget (even if I bumped enough to cover the cost there were other things I deem more important for my needs).
Not that I expect it to matter for you here, but I've been reading a bunch about people taking the PCCBs off their track cars as they just don't hold up (and then as you point out are serious cash to replace). Since you have a track car I doubt your CD will see much/any time on the track, but I would also wonder how well they hold up to towing. I suppose that would really depend on how heavy your load is and how far/often you are pulling it.
I haven't towed yet, but I've been happy with the standard brakes for normal driving. I did, however, find them a bit wanting when I took it for an AutoX. I think that rather than stepping up to the PCCBs, I'd swap them with the bigger TT/GTS steel brakes (or a comparable aftermarket set if such a thing exists).

Some folk have had PCCBs on our trucks and swear by them. Having had them previously on a CTT and then initially not on the CTTS, I regretted not having ordered them again. Yes, plenty $$$ but I missed the feel and initial bite/grip of the PCCBs vs. steel brakes. The truck is pretty heavy and those yellow callipers really are worth every cent. I have taken the wheels off myself, easy to do and unless you are completely careless, the rotors will be fine.
Cheers,

I have them on my 2012 CTT and love them for all the reasons you've listed. Great feel, but you have to swallow hard because of the price. Also had the on a 2010 GT3, those really sold on them.
Price I got for replacement rotors is $3500 each. Set of pad $400. Porsche recommends replacing pads at 50% wear on the PCCBs. They apparently crack from traction control, and can pit if you take them to the track and are fragile in general according to the service department and from Stopotech.
I'm going for aftermarket Brembos in iron in the same size and a bit less total cost than the BCCB option. About $550/rotor replacement.
I think the majority of the superior stopping power is form the superior size.

It is a tested fact from C&D the Big Red stop just as good as the PCCB, if you really like the hard initial bit, there are different kinds of pad for the steel you can try to get the same feel as the ceramics.
