Depends on you and your dealer. The upside of the plans is that you are locked in at the price you paid (and let's be real, the service costs are only going to go up over the years) so no mater what Porsche dealer you take it to you won't be shafted by a ridiculous rate (for the 5k interval (e.g. oil change) the dealers in my area range from 450 to 675 for the same service). If I remember correctly someone calculated out the 4 year plan being the best value, but it's been awhile since I looked into it. The plans also only have value if you will only take it to Porsche dealers.

For me I looked into it and I could indeed "save" some money going with a few plans rather than pay as I go, but I can save even more by either doing the stuff myself (e.g. oil changes) or taking it to a local Indy.

My advice would for you to find a good Indy in your area that knows Porsches and sit down and review what they would charge for the SI items that you don't want to (or can't) take care of yourself. Then compare that to what your Porsche dealer(s) would charge, and finally compare that to different plan prices.
That's some good advice. I rarely keep cars for longer than a year. No matter my intent, I just get antsy and see something better out there.

I'll probably just pay as I go.

Given that I would say a maintenance plan isn't worth it for you as (unless you pile on the miles) all you should need in that time is an oil change.

Hopefully you'll fall in love with the GTS and it will break that cycle for you

I'm a Porsche newbie...should I plan on purchasing the maintenance plan from the porsche dealer?

I'll post pics soon. Getting it tinted tomorrow.

And YES, I do in fact PDCC, just not PTV. Someone here was nice enough to help me out with the build info.

My car retailed for $121k. So CRAZY.
$40,000 depreciation hit(30%) in 6 months and 7500 miles.

Is it just me or is this too good to be true. Accident repair? Do they actually depreciate that much that quick?

The CARFAX was clean. No sign of any damage other than a small little dimple on one of the doors and curb rash on the wheels. I'll be swapping out the wheels anyway.

I wonder if Carmax just didn't appraise the with all the options it does have.

I'm very happy with the price.

Usually Carmax is good about squeezing every penny they can out of you, but it could be that whomever priced it didn't understand Porsches and just priced it based on the options that they could identify.

Going by KBB/Edmunds/etc.. the sticker for my 13 CD was only 62, but the reality (before discount) was 72. They just don't have all the various options to select to get the correct info. Same thing with our 01 911 which had a sticker of 103, but the closest I can get those sites is 85.

[QUOTE=stillmadeit;4014091]So it looks like I have this configuration

So where did you get this information? Can you get it online by VIN?
I need this info as well

Just got a 2013 GTS with low miles from Carmax as well. My deal wasn't as smoking hot as yours.

Update: I was able to see my original build information from Stuttcars.com after registering and uploading the VIN. Very useful.
