What to do (Dealer related issue)?

My dealer confirmed that my car will be delivered after my order 4-5 months max. And it's already more than 5 months passed, and didn't hear from them. So i called my salesman but his phone was closed(found out he was on vacation). And i went to the dealership to see what's going on. Anyway they told me that my car will take approx 6 more weeks to arrive. Thats almost 7 months waiting time! Is this acceptable? What action should i take if any?

I would politely ask the manager to sign on the contact that the delay pushes the arrival date back 6 more weeks thus there is some type of amended agreement of a deadline in writing . Then i would simply wait and hope for the best outcome .
This may work out for you . In my opinion there is no need to worry .. yet .

Keep in mind that a dealership wants to sell you the car just as much as you want to have it but both of you are equally dependent on Porsche to build it .

Sometimes there are delays . Other times a person can even get sick or face an unexpected obstacle because a 6 month order is a long time . 6 weeks however is not a long time . good luck !!

What do you want them to do - seems you have maybe 3 options (1) see if they will drop the price some (2) cancel your order or (3) wait

Thanks man. I won't mind if they told me from the beginning that it may take up to 7 months waiting time. But the the lack of transparency is what disturbs me.

Yeah my only option is wait. but i think i should be compensated and don't know how to pursue it. And can't cancel firstly because my deposit will not be refunded. Secondly, i waited so long and just want the car; so its like i invested my time into this whole ordeal, and just like that let it go? noway lol

I've ordered about 6 german cars in my career, usually when they are late - you can get something out of them ...
