Earlier this week I stopped by to check out Larry's shop. While I was there, he was kind enough to do a little work for me. Larry apologizes for not being around since he is jet setting around the world (just got back from having a weekend dinner in Sweden) and playing around with his new Tesla! Installing Agency Power diverter valves: Installing the IPD Plenum: Before: Removed: Installed:

I haven't really been able to throughly test out the new mods. Since having it done, the SF Bay has been hit with a rain storm so it has been slow going everywhere.

When I did get a chance to push it a little, it seems that the throttle does respond a little quicker and the boost builds up slightly faster. No real dyno numbers to support it, just the seat of my pants feel. Pretty sure the advertised 30-35hp increase is exaggerated a slight bit!

You know how crazy Larry is! He totally pimped out his Tesla Model S.

So we had a little break in the rain yesterday and the sun came out. On a route that I drive almost every day, I paid a little more attention to the engine. From what I can tell, the acceleration is quicker and the boost build up quicker. Driving the way I normally do, I would only see the boost build up to 0.3, but after the mods I was seeing 0.5 to 0.7. While nothing concrete, subjectively there seems to be a gain.

That's a great picture of the lunatic! Thanks.

The Tesla S is a really great looking car. Maybe he won't get in to trouble with that one.

So HOiYA,

Based on your Butt Dyno, is the IPD Plenum still worth the upgrade?

If I had to do it again, I probably would. When I was talking to Larry about these 2 mods, he said he only noticed the gain with both IPD and diverter valves upgraded. Since I had them both done at the same time, I can't say whether that is true or not.

Nice upgrades and pics! If I had to guess which mod contributing more to your gains (having done something similar), I would be more biased towards the diverter valves. Am I right to assume you have a tune?

Thnx RM. I haven't gotten the ECU tune yet. Just haven't mustered the gumption to remove the DME out myself and send it in. I might have a trip planned to SoCal this summer and I'll see if I have time to arrange for a visit to GIAC.

But for now, I am enjoying the ride!
